A fastball coming in at 95 MPH lends .400 milliseconds of recognition to the batter. The hitter then has roughly 19-feet remaining before they must make full commitment to the oncoming pitch. Hitting a baseball has long said to be one of the most difficult things to do in all of sports given the sheer numbers associated with the task.
